Small Business Saturday | Clementine | The Honest Home Podcast

Emily Blistein is the owner of Clementine, a small business in Vermont. She is our guest today on this special Thanksgiving/Small Business Saturday edition of The Honest Home Podcast. The hard work she puts into her shop is evident by her beautiful curation of handmade items and thoughtful display both in her store and online. She is one of a few shops being featured by an American Express/Etsy partnership for this weeks Small Business Saturday.

Where's My Office Now - Episode 013

Where's My Office Now | The Honest Home Podcast

"There's a feeling of real community when you are on the road."

Our guests on today's episode are shaking up the way we live life at home in a major way! Emily King and Corey Smith (along with their rescue pup Penny Rose) travel and live in their 1987 VW Westfalia Vanagon. They chronicle their adventures on their blog Where's My Office Now. We talked about life on the road and the community that they have found along the way. They are currently gearing up for a new project partnering with Idle Theory Bus to document the stories of other people living a nomadic lifestyle.

Sarah Susanka, Not So Big - Episode 012

Sarah Susanka | The Honest Home Podcast

"They're not looking for more square footage, they're looking for a better house that feels like home"

While in design school a friend handed me the book The Not So Big House by Sarah Susanka. As I read through the intro and first few chapters I thought 'she gets it'. "More rooms, bigger spaces, and vaulted ceilings do not necessarily give us what we need in a home".

It was an honor to interview Sarah. She talked about why we are so dissatisfied with our largest purchase, and what to do moving forward. (A hint...her book Home By Design will transform the way you think about your home.)
